Pro Softball Training is owned by professional softball coach & instructor Erin Goettlicher. Erin currently resides in Manassas, VA and offers softball training & instruction to all ages & skill levels in the DC and Northern Virginia area. Coach Erin created Pro Softball Training in January of 2009 when the Washington Glory, women’s professional softball team, discontinued competition in the National Pro Fastpitch League. During the two years the Glory was in DC, the players and coaches became a source for elite softball instruction, and role models for the many young girls in the area. When the team left, the need for instruction still remained, and Erin decided to stay and continue working with the local softball community.
Former players, Amber Jackson & Courtney Bures also reside in the Virginia area and work closely with Pro Softball Training to conduct clinics, team training, and individual instruction.
Through the past several years of being involved with the professional level of softball, and working with youth, it became obvious the positive influence pro softball athletes could have. The opportunity for an aspiring youth softball player to work with a female role model, who has elite skills, and has played the game of softball themselves, cannot be matched. The need to provide youth an opportunity to work with Professionals and Olympians is great, but the ability for kids to have the opportunity is limited, which is what lead Erin to the next phase of Pro Softball Training. Erin’s ability to unite these two groups is what gives Pro Softball Training it’s unique opportunity.
Pro Softball Training now offers online video lessons and training to softball players everywhere. Our staff consists of select Professional, Olympic, & National Team Coaches and players. Our instructors include 3-Time Olympian, Crystl Bustos, 2007 NPF Champions and Coaching Staff of the Year, Carie Dever-Boaz and Erin Goettlicher, Team USA Coaching staff member, Karen Johns, and professional softball player, Megan Willis. Athletes and their parents have the ability to send video clips to our instructors, who then review the video, and send back the analyzed video clip with feedback and suggestions. Drill videos and online coaching tools will also be available from our instructors.
Mission Statement
Pro Softball Training was created for elite level coaches and players to continue the positive development, growth, and advancement of fastpitch softball. Through training, instruction programs, camps, clinics, internet technology, and other events, Pro Softball Training aims to create venues and opportunities for elite softball players and coaches to directly share their knowledge, educate, and positively influence youth level softball players, coaches, & parents. By providing these avenues at the local and national level, it is our goal to continue to improve, build upon, and create even more future opportunities in our sport.
